My name is Grimaldo Silva and I have a PhD from University Grenoble Alpes. My PhD was done at INRIA Rhone-Alpes  with a focus on understanding the manner in which robots should behave around people. My current research is in the domain of multi-perspective interaction - where external cameras are used in order to help a robot be partially to navigate the environment with better situational awareness .

As an undergraduate student in UNEb (State University of Bahia), I was a member of the group ACSO/BRT as junior scientist where we competed in the RoboCup event, more specifically in the mixed reality sub-league. Eventually, I became a part of the league's technical committee, as such, I was responsible for the creation and also maintenance of a new version of the mixed reality SoccerServer.

After the conclusion of my undergraduate studies, my master studies were done at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBa) where my focus shifted into the area of machine learning and computer vision.  In this context, our focus was speeding up object detection using saliency methods as a filtering phase.
